Job Title: "Oracle PL/SQL Database Developer
Location: Onsite in Tallahassee, FL.

Job Description:
Required Tasks to be performed:
  • Provide maintenance, enhancement and support for a variety of the agency's business applications.
  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications.
  • Research and document requirements of program users.
  • Analyze existing schemas, documenting relationships and dependencies.
  • Write scripts for migrating data from old data structures to new ones, which may include transforming data values to fit new standards.
  • Leverage DDL and DML to administer Oracle database objects to include schemas, tables, fields, views, packages, and procedures.
  • Update and manage scripts and scheduled tasks through operating system utilities such as CRON jobs.
  • Write, translate and code software programs and applications per specifications.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines, to include documenting current and future state changes.
  • Work with network administrators, systems analysts and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
  • Work with the project team to facilitate unit, interface, integration, and user acceptance tests.
  • Attend and contribute to all requisite project ceremonies.
  • Modify existing Oracle Forms to reflect changes in the underlying database including adding new fields, modifying existing ones, and removing obsolete elements.
  • Ensure Oracle Forms UI remains user-friendly and meets agency business requirements.
  • Revise existing PHP reports or develop new ones as required by the new system.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • 7+ years' experience with Oracle databases with the capability to write complex queries and develop complex PL/SQL database objects, including both DML and DDL.
  • 3+ years' experience with Oracle Forms.
  • 3+ years' experience with database and/or SQL performance tuning.
  • 3+ years' experience with financial data, preferably those that deal with accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of relational database designs.
  • Experience using continuous integration tools, preferably Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of relational database designs.
  • Knowledge of Information Systems Development Methodology (ISDM).
  • Experience with database query tools (i.e., TOAD, SQL Developer, SQL Navigator).
  • Knowledge of database security, including role-based security.
  • Knowledge and experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML).
  • Ability to be creative, to use sound judgment, and to display foresight to identify potential problems and design/specifications and assigned application software systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Oracle certification(s).
  • Experience with standard principles of accounting, such as GAAP or International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Experience developing PHP applications and/or reports.
  • Experience in web development leveraging XML and CSS.
  • Experience with JQuery (Javascript library) or other Javascript frameworks (such as AngularJS, NodeJS, and React).
  • Experience using code repositories, preferably Git.
  • Experience using continuous integration tools, preferably Jenkins.
  • Experience with environmental regulatory business processes and practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile development, specifically Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP) and Kanban.
