Maintenance and Operations Application Lead
Years of Experience Required: 5+ years as a Mainframe Developer, 2 years as a direct team manager
Required Skills:
• Proven experience with Java and Mainframe Platforms (COBOL, JCL, DB2 (5+ years of Mainframe development experience).
• Experience in team leadership or management roles with the ability to lead a team of technical and functional resources (2+ years' experience).
• Thorough knowledge of state integrated eligibility and related processes such as data exchanges (online and batch processes), correspondence, agency worker processes, and state public portal etc.
• Ability to troubleshoot high complex issues related to complicated eligibility and related functionalities and identify solutions for high complex system / operational issues that involve multiple applications integrated with each other.
• Thorough knowledge of nightly batch processes for state eligibility systems.
• Ability to multitask and work in a high stress environment with conflicting priorities.
• Ability to suggest potential next steps to clients as resolution / to mitigate risks or impact identified due to ongoing operational issues.
• Proactive approach and responsiveness towards issues identified.
• Self-motivation to resolve and ownership of issues from their identification to final resolution implementation.
• Ability to communicate with clients almost on hourly basis, respond to their queries and develop a great rapport.
• Ability to work with people of different experience levels and collaborate across various stakeholder groups.
• Experience coaching/mentoring junior developers.
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment under aggressive timelines and shifting priorities.

Role Tasks:
• Lead a team of developers to design, develop, test, and maintain applications.
• Prepare meeting materials and conduct client workgroup meetings under the supervision of a manager/Senior Manager.
• Manage and coordinate the activities of a technical team, ensuring successful project delivery.
• Coach and mentor junior developers.
• Communicate project status, issues, and resolutions in both written and oral form to a diverse audience.
• Identify inefficiencies and propose solutions for process improvement.
• Coordinate with other cross functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Identify opportunities for reusing existing solutions and promote the use of efficient, well-established practices.
